Materials
Every stone behaves differently
Grit progression, tooling and sealer all change with the material. Treating limestone like granite is how floors get ruined.
Marble
Soft, calcium-based and prone to etching. The material we restore most.
Limestone
Porous and easily marked. Responds well to honing and impregnating sealers.
Travertine
Naturally voided. Often needs filling before grinding and honing.
Granite
Hard and dense. Needs higher-grade diamond tooling to re-polish.
Terrazzo
Aggregate-set surfaces requiring heavy metal-bond grinding to expose stone.
Sandstone
Open-grained and absorbent. Common on outdoor and pool surrounds.
Bluestone
Dense basalt used outdoors. Restored by honing rather than polishing.

The process
Grind flat, refine, polish, protect
Restoration is abrasive work in a fixed order. Skipping a grit to save time is visible in the finished floor, which is why the sequence never changes.
Diamond grinding a marble floor
Metal-bond grinding to remove the damaged layer and bring the floor back to flat.
Grinding slurry and the first cut
What the surface actually looks like mid-grind, before any refinement begins.
Honing through the grits
Each pass closes the surface further. Skipping a grit shows up in the final finish.
Full-depth grout removal and epoxy rebuild
Joints cut out completely and rebuilt, rather than topped up over failed grout.
Sealing a restored marble floor
A breathable impregnating sealer, chosen for the material and how the room is used.

Method
We remove damage rather than cover it
Most companies offer polishing or a surface-level treatment. That looks right on handover and fails on the same timeline every time, because the damage is still there under the shine.
- Remove the damage
- Worn, etched and scratched material is ground away rather than filled or coated over.
- Rebuild the structure
- Failed joints are cut out and rebuilt so the surface is sound underneath the finish.
- Restore the stone as a whole
- The floor is finished as one surface, so there are no patches that catch the light differently.
This is why the result holds for years instead of months — the stone is corrected, not disguised.
Regrouting
Deep joint reconstruction, not surface regrouting
Refreshing the top few millimetres of a failed joint hides the problem for a season. We cut the old joint out to depth and rebuild it, so the surface is stronger where it was previously weakest.
