Restoration
Whole-home and multi-level stone across floors, bathrooms, kitchens and external areas, sequenced as one programme.

The problem
In a large home the stone is rarely one thing. There is a floor through the living areas, a different stone in the bathrooms, benchtops in the kitchen, a stair, and paving outside — each in a different condition and each wanting a different method.
Handled piecemeal, the result is inconsistent: areas restored a year apart do not match, and the house reads as patched rather than restored.
What gets established before any work starts
These decide the method. Answering them wrong wastes an entire stage.
Approach
Described as a set of judgements rather than a fixed sequence, because that is how it genuinely works.
The property is treated as one programme with a sequence, so areas are not revisited and finishes across the house relate to one another.
Work is staged so the house stays liveable, typically zone by zone with wet areas planned around availability.
Each stone gets the method it needs. Using one approach across the whole house is faster to quote and worse to look at.
Protection of adjoining finishes — joinery, skirtings, carpet junctions — is planned in, because in an occupied home this is where damage otherwise happens.
Not every stage applies to every job. Which are used is decided at assessment.
Practicalities
The details that affect how the job runs, and that are easier to plan for than to discover midway.
Limits
Stated plainly, because finding out on the day suits nobody.
Evidence
Documented jobs, with the stone, location and condition recorded.
Questions
Usually not. Work is normally staged zone by zone so the house stays liveable, though there will be periods when particular rooms or a wet area are out of use.
Yes, and often they should. A polished living floor, a honed bathroom and a textured external area are the right answers to three different sets of conditions.
