The problem
In a large home the stone is rarely one thing. There is a floor through the living areas, a different stone in the bathrooms, benchtops in the kitchen, a stair, and paving outside — each in a different condition and each wanting a different method.
Handled piecemeal, the result is inconsistent: areas restored a year apart do not match, and the house reads as patched rather than restored.
