How to choose

- pH matters on calcite stone
- Acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone and travertine on contact. Many supermarket bathroom products are acidic, which is behind a large share of the damage brought in for repair.
- Fillers are matched wet, in place
- Colour matching has to happen against the actual stone under the actual lighting. A filler matched from a chart is visible in the finished floor.
- Cure time drives programme
- Repair chemistry cures at rates that vary with temperature and humidity. A fast-cure product can be the difference between finishing on the day and returning.

- A filler is always detectable at close range; the aim is unobtrusive, not invisible
- Shelf life is limited and some products degrade once opened
